Patient medical records are computerised. Information held on the computer is confidential and cannot be accessed by anyone outside the practice. The data is password protected and passwords change on a regular basis. We are registered under the Data Protection Act. Health Authorities have the right to be given anonymised information for monitoring and financial purposes. Our records may also be inspected, at any time, directly on site by Authorities who are visiting in order to: prevent fraud, approve us for training purposes or to appraise the quality of our patient care. All telephone calls, both to and from the surgery are recorded for training and monitoring purposes.
All our staff are trained in confidentiality issues and maintaining confidentiality is of paramount importance to us.
