The GP Extend Access (GPEA) is offering 334 appointments a week making it easier for patients to access primary care services at a time that suits them. Under the service patients registered with Nene Member Practice, will be able to make an appointment at a time that is much more convenient to them, including evenings until 8pm, weekends and Bank Holidays.
When the service is being fully delivered, patients will be able to book an appointment amongst a collaboration of GP practices in the area and is exactly like an appointment at a patients GP practice. If a patient wishes to attend an ‘extended access’ appointment, they may be given the option to travel to another local GP practice or central hub, and may not necessarily see their own GP. This also means extended access appointments require patient consent for sharing records. Patients preferring to see their own GP should book an appointments with their practice during opening hours.
Patients are required to contact their practice in the usual way to request an appointment. If there is no appointments available at the practice, patients may be offered an appointment with the GPEA, if that is right for them.
At present we are piloting the scheme and are only offering appointments to our own patients on the following days and times:
Tuesday – Brixworth – 6.30pm – 8.00pm
Thursday – Guilsborough – 6.30pm – 8.00pm
Saturday – alternating between Guilsborough and Brixworth – 8.30am – 11.30am
Sunday – x1 per month at Guilsborough – 8.30am – 11.30am
